Another week closer to the biggest event of the year for Umbraco (if you discount the release of Umbraco V8 that is!) and it's time to introduce not one but two uBuddies.

With the number of weeks less than the number of uBuddies, I'm needing to up the frequency of these blog posts and introduce more than just the one buddy.

Today, I would like to introduce Dave and Lotte, read all about them below.

When was your first time at Codegarden?
2018, last year.

Why did you volunteer to be a uBuddy this year at Codegarden?
It’s good to have someone there you can talk to. Although everyone is friendly you can find yourself standing alone between groups of people, it’s nice just to have a friendly face walking around.

How many times have been to Codegarden and what makes you come back?

Just once, I made some good friends and business contacts there last time.

Where will you be travelling from and on what date? e.g. London

Edinburgh, date to be decided but just ask

What's your top tip for Codegarden?

Take it at your own pace, some people dive right in and some people like to ease into it... everyone is doing it right.

What's the one item you will be packing and couldn't do without?

Notepad - don’t lug your laptop around all day otherwise you might miss *surprises*

If you could give your old self some advice about Codegarden, what would it be?

Pay your hotel bill as you leave - it’s not automatic and the hotel staff will be mildly irritated

If there is anything else you'd like to add?

Why is there a light in the fridge but not the freezer?

When was your first time at Codegarden?
2012.

Why did you volunteer to be a uBuddy this year at Codegarden?
At my first CodeGarden I was on my own, and didn't really know anyone else. On my first morning I was lucky and met a lovely person who introduced me to many others, and I've never been lonely at a CodeGarden - or any other Umbraco event - since! I am delighted to be a uBuddy to help ensure that everyone feels as welcome at their first CodeGarden!

How many times have been to Codegarden and what makes you come back?

My first was in 2012, and I've been every year since, so that makes 7! It's always really interesting and inspiring to hear what everyone is up to, and what is coming from Umbraco HQ. And yes, it's also a lot of fun.

Where will you be travelling from and on what date? e.g. London

From London but really not sure when yet, I'm afraid!

What's your top tip for Codegarden?

Before you go write a list of anyone who has helped you out on the forums, created a package that you've used, or given a talk/written a blog post that you've found useful. Then when you're at CodeGarden ask around and make sure you meet them and say thank you. They'll really appreciate it, and it's a good way to meet people.

What's the one item you will be packing and couldn't do without?

Suncream! We might be lucky and have another warm one like last year. Oh and my 'no transaction-fee' credit-card: I don't bother changing any money to Danish Krone.

If you could give your old self some advice about Codegarden, what would it be?

Get more sleep before you go!

If there is anything else you'd like to add?

I'll definitely be in Odense by the Tuesday afternoon; so if anyone wants to meet for a bite to eat and then head together to the party at Umbraco HQ in the evening, get in touch!

If you are based in or near London, you should come to the pre CodeGarden London Umbraco meetup on May 9th (look on meetup.com for more info)
